Another Schedule of Calls Adjustment? | OSI Agent Tobiah Kroskob
For the Zoomies BLUF
Hey, what's up, fellow Zoomies! I'm C2C Andrew Cormier, the host of the "For the Zoomies" podcast, and if you want to stay connected with the USAFA community, you’re in the right place. I’ll do my best to show off what the alumni of the best Service Academy are up to!
Upcoming Episode

“Middle of the pack cadet” Tobiah Kroskob ‘14 speaks about her experience being accepted into one of the most selective career fields: Special Agent in the Office of Special Investigations, and how NCIS (just like Top Gun) was supposed to be a show about the Air Force!
I had motion sickness…a flight doc came in and he worked with the Germans. They think it’s in the same part of your brain that fear of public speaking comes from. So they literally give people a pedestal and go out in public places to give speeches…

New Schedule of Calls
The Schedule of Calls (SoC) is the schedule in which cadets allocate their time to certain activities. It dictates when cadets will be in an academic environment (DF) vs. an athletic environment (AD) vs. a military training environment (CW). Attached is the current SoC. It can also be found here.

Recently though, cadets were briefed on a new SoC that is likely to be put into place next semester. It has not been confirmed yet, but since it was briefed to cadets, it is likely that it will be confirmed soon.
I’m choosing not to include the picture of the new SoC to save my own behind, but I’ll describe it.
Classes will start at 0800 instead of 0730 and end at 1453 instead of 1538.
There will be 6 53-minute class periods instead of 7
No changes to lunch/Noon Meal Formation
The M5/T5 period will be rearranged: since M5 was used for CW and no longer exists, the 0700-0800 and 1500-1553 periods will now be used for CW
Although not confirmed, minutes for Doolies is likely to be eliminated
OPINION - I’m pretty indifferent to these changes. Since the M5 period wasn’t always utilized (speaking as a 2 deg, as a Doolie I can’t remember having a free M5), a lot of days I just get the time back, so I’m curious to see how much the new CW periods will be used. The morning CW period doesn’t phase me either since I get up early no matter when my first duty is.
Community
As someone who has the privilege of being mentored by many of USAFA’s great alumni, I understand how useful it is to talk to someone who has experience doing something you want to do in the future.
Cadets - Please reach out to the email address below if there is a specific AFSC you’d like to talk to and I’ll gladly make an introduction for you with extremely approachable grads.
Grads - If you’d like a venue to share your story and interact with cadets/get more involved with the community please reach out to the email address below. I want to catch up to West Point’s and Annapolis’ grad network. Let’s make this happen!
